Frugal Doings

Ate all meals at home.

Added $2 in change to the change jar.

Drinking water and the occasional sweet tea made at home. No sodas. Good for my diet and my pocketbook!

Not running the heat or a/c unless absolutely needed.

Washed only full loads of laundry & am watching dryer times to eliminate waste of electricity.

Tried a new recipe which was loved by all. Grilled cheese made  with mozzarella and pepperoni slices, dipped in marinara sauce. Delicious!

Boiled a dozen eggs and diced up one chicken breast to use for sandwiches rather than buying lunch meat.

What frugal things have you done this week?

Grilled Mozzarella with Pepperoni dipped in Marinara sounds incredible!!! I am going to try that and even have the pepperoni in the ref! Yum!!!

Let's see what I've been doing frugal recently~ I bought some salad makings and did a salad in a jar and am happy to say that premaking them and putting them in the ref allowed us to have NO waste! Yay!!! I usually buy salad makings and then some of it goes bad. ;( Not good!

I've also been buyin gallon jugs of water instead of individual serving bottles saving over half the cost.

I also make my own homemade cleaners and LOVE it! So much more economical and my tile floors in my kitchen are not all sticky!

Btw, I'd love to hear your frugal blog reads if you'd care to send the link!

What a beautiful day we had today! I dismantled an old wooden XL dog house and I am going to reuse the wood for some raised garden beds. This will save me a little money unless I have to go to a masseuse to get all these kinks out now...:)

Oh! I like your idea of cooking the chicken for sandwiches instead of buying lunch meat. I just 'duh' outloud when I read that!
Sometimes...things are just too simple aren't they. I tend to complicate things...
Great tip!

so what have I done.
like you: no eating out, drinking water, hung laundry outside Sunday...I've been turning the heat off in the bathroom except for showers or morning wake-ups. The Littles(grandkids) are here and they leave the door open and when no one is in the bathroom it is a waste of electric to heat. (unless we have freezing temps)

It has worked...our bill came today--down $20 bucks! yay!
have a great week.

Hi Tracy,

I posted mine a few minutes ago. That grilled cheese recipe is perfect for rushed nights. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe.

I hope I didn't post this twice. Blogger is giving me fits tonight.

Eating most meals at home these days. Trying out new recipes with ingredients already in the pantry. Shopping for healthier items at Trader Joes (great prices)
