A Letter to Kenzie

Today is my youngest daughter's birthday. Kenzie has turned 12. We are having her party Sunday afternoon so all of our family can be there.

Kenzie is very unique. She is so full of energy. She just keeps going and going, but once you get her to sit still she's out like a light!

Kenzie has such personality. She can always make us laugh with her crazy antics. :)

I love all the faces she makes. She is very expressive. She likes adventure - definitely a trait she gets from her dad!

See what I mean? *wink*

We have been going through a rough patch here lately, but she is still my baby and I love her with all of my heart.

Kenzie has always been an outdoorsy girl. Her favorite place is the beach.

She is wonderfully creative and artistic. I adore her art and enjoy listening to her practice on the keyboard. She can play music by ear.

Kenzie has a big heart and strong emotions. She laughs hard, plays hard, cries hard. She believes in justice for wrongdoing.

What do I want Kenzie to know on her birthday?

Dear Kenzie,

You are becoming a young lady which is a wonderful thing. Do not rush to be have plenty of time for that. For now, enjoy these last few years of your childhood for it is fleeting.

You are strong and beautiful just the way you are! Don't let anyone tell you differently. Not everyone will like you, nor will you get along with everyone and that's okay. You will find true friends and one day a true love who will love you for who you are. Don't settle for less and don't change to please others!

Guard your heart. People will say one thing, but look at their actions for that is who they really are. Dream big and be willing to work hard for what you want. The harder you work, the luckier you get.

It is not easy for a Mama and Daddy to watch their baby grow up. I'm sure Dad would agree that if we could turn back the clock we would so you would be little again. You will always be our little girl regardless...I don't care how old you get!

We love you so much, Kenzie. I hope you know that.

Love, Mama

My beautiful, Kenzie...

Dear Tracy ~ What a lovely progression of photos of Kenzie who is a lovely young lady.

Happy Birthday Kenzie. Enjoy each day, growing more beautiful inside and out with each one.

Life can be rough at times, but hopefully we learn and become better people, more loving, forgiving, kind and patient.

Don't let others intimidate you, don't copy how other people are, be your own, unique self. Learn to say no.

Keep that wonderful spark that you have, that love of adventure.

Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady
