Summer Distractions

"I meant to do my work today ~
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me."

Oh how lovely and how true. Much better to have enjoyed the brown bird and the butterfly etc as the work will still be waiting another day!

I see that poem spoke to you too! I found it on another garden blog, and just had to add it to mine since it is a very apt description of my priorities in the summer. The housework may not get done, but the gardening sure does!

Oh too funny! I'm always getting distracted by the beauty in a summer's day! It's so fleeting so it's better to enjoy it now while it's there.
