So I went to my first karate class last night. I almost chickened out, but I followed through. And you know what? It was fun!
It is very empowering to get out on the mat and learn to kick, punch, and yell. The louder you yell, the stronger you are. I realized yesterday that if I can make it through a karate class, I can do just about anything. I am stronger than I thought I was.
I am looking forward to Thursday's class.

I'm so proud of you too. And it does sound like great fun! To learn to kick, punch and yell. Who wouldn't love doing that!?!
*They* always tell us we can't do those things. And here's a class, where you're supposed to do them. How much better than that, can it get? :-)

What a fun thing to do. I don't know if Karate is the one that has that thing called Kata but I love to see people doing that as it looks so beautiful.

Roberta Anne - yes, my children have learned several katas already. They will get their purple belts in June!
I'm so pleased for you Tracy! As I work through some of my anxiety issues, I'm realizing that the more exercise and empowerment I get, the stronger I feel. You'll be on your way to a black belt in no time :))
Way to go!! I took Karate' years ago and it WAS empowering!! Just enjoy.
Brilliant!!
Congrats honey! And KICK butt! :)
Tracy,
What fun! There something so gratifying about learning to use your body. I enjoy trying new sports, too, so I can relate to that feeling of power. Plus, it's so fun you don't even realize what a great workout you're getting. Congratulations for stepping outside your comfort zone. That is, in itself, a great accomplishment!
