Welcome February!

"China tea, the scent of hyacinths, wood fires and bowls of violets - that is my mental picture of an agreeable February afternoon." ~ Constance Spry

February arrives cold, wet and gray, her gifts disguised for only the most discerning spirits to see. Gentle is our path. Gratitude is the thread we weave into the fabric of our daily lives this month, giving thanks for our simply abundant lives and asking for the gift of one more thing: grateful hearts. ~Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach

While we may be longing for the warmth of Spring, it is not yet her time. Instead, let us enjoy this period of rest and savor the comforts of home.

Here are a few ideas:

Stitchery of all kinds.
Plan your Spring garden while flipping through seed catalogs.
Read the stack of books you've been meaning to get to.
Watch cozy movies.
Sip hot cocoa and tea.
Listen to uplifting music
Write a letter to a long-distance friend of family member.
Craft your own Valentine cards.
Institute a family board game night.
Home decor/improvement projects.
Take luxurious afternoon naps.
Devote an hour weekly to a spa evening. Use up all of those beauty concoctions.
Eat dinner by candlelight.
Give yourself permission to go to bed early.
Create a space of your own.
Bird watch.
Sketch, paint, collage.
Learn something new.

You can create the life of your dreams.

I had no idea it was February when I woke up this morning. My life is in a coma, waiting for spring to come.
