Christmas Treats

Yesterday we baked sugar cookies and banana bread to give away to family and friends. The girls were in charge of frosting the sugar cookies and adding sprinkles.

We used brown paper bags to pack our treats in. The girls decorated each bag with a Christmas theme. I love the little drawings on each. We then folded them over, stapled the top, and added a bow. We used what we had on hand to create lovely little treat bags.

Today I want to do a bit more baking. There are the last of the gifts to wrap, family to visit, and Christmas dinner prep so tomorrow will be a bit easier. It is a long-standing tradition in our family to let the kids open one gift on Christmas Eve. Then we will settle down and watch Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, another tradition that began when I was just a little girl. Finally, the kids will be ushered to bed to dream of sugarplums, fairies, and all of the magic of the season.

For your viewing pleasure, a clip from Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas...Enjoy!
