The Long Cold Winter

"Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour."
~John Boswell

Old Man Winter is making himself known this year. We woke to a frigid temperature of 25 degrees and the north wind blowing full force. Winter is the perfect time to rest weary souls.

When it's too cold to be outdoors, you can focus on the things of home. It's the time to daydream, plan, craft, putter around the house, and bake. It's the time to sort through and purge belongings, to sip hot cocoa, and relax with a good book.

It's the time to play board games, watch movies, and flip through the magazines you haven't had a chance yet to read. It's the time to cross-stitch and sew, take luxuriously long baths, and nap between cozy flannel sheets.

Winter is the time for the family circle. As the darkness closes in, we gather together indoors where it's warm and cozy. Within our four walls, all is well.

Winter is the time of comfort.

winter is a time to cherish your SELF - light some candles, pour a bath, sprinkle oils & salts to soothe the dry skin... soak...

hope it isn't too cold for you! xo

enjoy visiting here!
so many times reading your words, i am nodding in agreement and's a nice thing when others express one's own sentiments.....makes you feel the world isn't so big and we aren't all so different after all.

We have temps in the low 50's right now but around noon they're suppose to drop to the low 40's. By Saturday? Mid 60's...go figure! lol
Stay warm!
