Homemaking and Longing for Autumn Days

The day will be a busy one: cleaning both bathrooms, clean the master bedroom, organize pantry, decluttering, errands to the post office and library, and finally going to my sister's to wash a ton (or so it seems) of laundry. And tonight I'm going with Alfred to his junior high reunion planning meeting...FUN! I get to look through all the yearbooks from his school days. :)

The weather is still much too warm to spend any amount of time outdoors. The heat index will be 105 degrees for most of the week. We have been keeping all of the blinds and curtains closed to try to keep the heat out. We also run a couple of box fans to keep the air circulating. We also limit baking to early morning or late evenings. I'm still looking for the right material to make lined curtains for the living room and the sliding glass door ~ alot of heat comes in through that area alone! Every little bit helps to keep the house cooler.

I can't help but look forward to autumn when we can spend more time outdoors and there are so many fun things to do in the upcoming months; a beach celebration for Alfred's Army National Guard unit, the fair, several birthday celebrations, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! It's amazing how quickly this year has flown by!

Well, my home duties are calling. Hope you have a wonderful day!
